I Can't Wait For Summer Because...

:Summer:

I have no bad connotations with this word. Everything about summer makes me happy and right now just thinking about it makes me so incredibly anxious!

Here are some reasons why Summer needs to come NOW:

// Warmth – I can’t wait for the day when 50 degrees sounds cold

// Bonfires – Oh my goodness I CAN NOT wait to sit around a fire on a warm summer night

// Lake Life – Sun; Sand; Water; Boat Rides; Drinks; Lounging 

– The ice needs to melt RIGHT NOW -

// 4-Wheeler Rides – Afternoon rides with the hubby in wide open spaces

// Vitamin D – My skin needs sun…Oh how I long for a tan

// Cold Drinks – Summer Shandy, Frozen Margaritas, Jungle Juice << My mouth is watering

// Canoeing – I can’t wait for our parties on the Sheyenne in the red canoe

// Sun Dresses – Cute clothes mixed with cute sandals, Yes Please

// Fresh Fruits/Veggies – Garden food is calling my name

// Camping – Sleeping under the stars in the fresh air sounds heavenly right now

// Flowers – We have beautiful flower beds and I’m so excited for color and Green Grass

// Grilling – I don’t think this needs an explanation; everything tastes better on the grill

The Little Things

I have been a little MIA on the blog lately but don't say I didn't warn you. Summer + Me + Blogging is not a good combo. All those ladies who have full time jobs but still find the time in the summer to write 2+ posts a week should seriously get an award. 

I have been enjoying all those Little Things that make life worth living and I think Summertime always makes them a little sweeter! 

This is what I've been up to Lately :: 

1 :: It has been about two years since I got new glasses so last week I was on the search for some new ones - they should be here in a week or two so stay tuned to see what I chose

2 :: One of our friends has a summer internship in NYC so of course we need a few 'good bye for now' beers - I would love to go visit this summer but with all we have planned I feel like my summer is already over before it has started

3 :: Was at the lake last weekend and the weather this year hasn't been the best but even in the gloom I love Spirit Lake

4 :: Hanging out with my sister was so fun - we had a great time singing karaoke and one of my sister's friends won the competition and tickets to a concert festival in MN {we totally helped his chances with our *rockstar* voices aka > I think we sing better sober}

5 :: My moms birthday was Tuesday and Steve and I were glad we could celebrate with her - we had a great time taking the LONG way to supper but who doesn't love cruising the backroads on a nice evening

6 :: We tried out a new place to eat on Tuesday and are so glad we got the recommendation - there aren't many places to eat in our area so it is always nice when a new bar/restaurant opens up {even better when we hit it up on beer special night}

I'm a sub on a summer sand volleyball league and actually getting ready to go play now and will post this when I get home. {Hiii I'm Home} I have a lot of fun with the ladies I play with and it is a good excuse for some exercise {wait I mean beer drinking}!! 

Lately I've been super busy with my little side photography business and when I get some photos edited I'll be sure to let you know! In the meantime let me know what you've been up to lately; and please tell me how do you keep up with blogging in the summer!!

The Little Things

I hope you guys aren't opposed to this giant photo dump I'm about to throw at you but I just want to let you know what I've been up to lately! 

1. I bought a gel nail kit that you do yourself at home. It made my nails super hard and the color was amazing, but doing the dishes by hand has worked against me on this polish because it is chipping like crazy.
2. Our niece had her Spring dance recital. Watching all those girls in their little tutus was so fun! 
3. I hung out with a good friend and a fellow Farmer's Wife. We had a great afternoon catching up - sipping on pink lemonade, watching Sex and the City {from season 1 episode 1}, eating orange sherbet push-up pops, and talking about the little baby in her belly ;-)
4. Sunset over the ND plains … I love this place
5. My doodles for a possible new tattoo
6. Had a great time on Mother's Day with my momma and the rest of my family
7. Do you ever try and recreate photos? It is so fun to see the changes - this was a 20 year difference
8. Riding with my hubby in the tractor - Oh I just love that man. They are currently busy planting corn, stay tuned for my Corn Reports!
9. We have had some amazing sunshine here and there is no way I could sit inside, I apologize in advance because I may be a bad blogger in the summer - if there is sunshine I'll be siting in it! I started Safe Haven by Nicholas Sparks this is one of the first books I've read after I have seen the movie; this has only reminded me why I should always read the book first I don't like knowing the ending of my books :-)

11. Our nieces crack me up and I love when they drop by and visit
12. Soaking up more Sunshine!
13. Finally opened my wine shipment - this is happiness!

I'm really excited for the weekend. My cousins are coming : I have a wedding to go to : I get to see old friends : I have 2 cousins with grad parties … It should be a weekend filled with great family and friends, and if it rains I may even get to see my husband for more than 2 hours {pray for some rain people}!!
