The Little Things

Who else has Fall Fever?? As sad as I am to see Summer leave us {since we hardly had summer} I am equally excited for leggings, boots and oversized sweaters. Our apartment smells of pumpkin spice, I'm hanging out in adorable leggings and loving these first days of fall!

I know it isn't Thursday but I'm still going to share my Lately post with you! I hope you enjoy all these Little Things that have made my life pretty amazing in the past week.

One of my good friends wasn't able to make it to our wedding so last week we watched our wedding video, ate some yummy dessert and hung out with her new little bundle of joy!

Last week seemed to drag a little so wine and cheese was necessary by Thursday.

The men were working cattle {giving cattle vaccines} this week. They usually work themselves so hard they forget to eat so I made sure to bring some lunch to them on Friday.

This is one of my best friends' little one she will be 1 year in December and is just starting to walk now … such a doll!

Speaking of that friend, she is moving to Florida in a week so we had a little get-together before she left us.
These are 2 of my best friends from HS ... LOVE THEM!

Told you I had some adorable leggings {my hubby thinks otherwise}! Got these from Brickyard Buffalo and I'm so in love with them.

The hubby and I became members of the little country church we go to. {Total moment of honesty we've been very bad with our attendance lately but I'm hoping this will help.} This is the church his mom grew up in and his Grandparents are still very involved in this church family. It reminds me of my country church I grew up in and I can't wait to become more involved. PS. don't you love the angels behind us in the b&w photo?! Those are made out of wheat by the hubby's Grandma, she is so amazingly talented!

I could stare at this little one all day. He belongs to one of my Best Friends and I just Love Love Love him! She lives 3+ hours away so I was beyond happy to visit when she was home this weekend.

Last night we had a nice Sunday drive. Checking Corn - Meeting the new show Steers - My love for Pair 2 of cute leggings!

Like I said The Little Things in my life have been keeping me pretty happy!
Now let me know, what little things have you been loving lately?!

The Little Things

I just looked at my instagram profile and my photos over the last few days and thought "I really am blessed" - no really I thought that, not just saying that to add some words to this blog post! I have been having a blast this past week and a half with my family and friends, they remind me what living is all about. I'm actually heading to the good ole County Fair in a few minutes to have our nieces show me their bunnies. There is even a Grand Champion bunny in the family now, talk about royalty - purple ribbon and all! I'm so proud of those little girls and can't wait to see them at the fair.

1.. Wine Women & Baseball with 3 of my girlfriends was so fun. We had a blast in the cities and I think the only thing we wish we could change was how we felt on our 4 hour ride home!

2.. Hanging out with my friend Meghan before baby El graces us with his/her little face! She is 38 weeks today, can't wait until baby is here!

3.. Go check me out in this post on Simply Clarke, she even has a great freebie and reminder for you.

4.. Kaylee Marie turned 3 on Tuesday. Wow it is really hard to believe the girls are getting so old.

5.. Last night I brought the hubby supper {harvest is in full swing}. I couldn't leave the farm without saying hi to these two boys!

6.. Photos of the girls after showing their rabbits earlier today … they are so stinkin' cute!

Speaking of those girlies I have a date with them so I'm gonna run. I'll leave you with one last picture from Monday. Me with the men in my life - Husband & Daddy!

Let me know The Little Things you are blessed with Lately!

The Little Things

You won't hear any complaining coming from me, my life has been pretty great. I'm blessed by all The Little Things God offers in this Life.

Lately this is what I've been up to:

Photos, Photos and More Photos. This has been what is consuming my life lately. I'm overjoyed that people are asking me to be their photographer and would be even happier if I could devote all my time to it. Unfortunately my little photography business isn't going to pay our health insurance or offer profit sharing so I'm still sticking it out with the full time job.  I have, however, invested in a new photo website and apparently just in time for them to have an AMAZING new system update. I am really excited to have found SmugMug and now have a new way to provide services to my clients. You can check out my site at www.LBPhotography-ND.smugmug.com

Last weekend was the first time all summer we got to go canoeing, the river was too high all summer but at least we are taking advantage of the Sheyenne now while we can. The trip down the river was a blast and over before we knew it. Steven and I decided to set up our tent at the cabin and hang out there all night, such a great idea and we woke up to a nice cool morning and the river in the background.

Steve and I are Celebs again. Okay not really but we are shown in the Fargo-Moorhead Area Woman magazine on the Photography We Love: Wedding page; thanks to our wonderful photographers at Milestones for using our photo!

We got some much needed rain so Wednesday Steve and I had a much needed date night. We went to the movie '2 Guns' it was really good, always kept me guessing, I highly recommend it {plus Mark Wahlberg is a nice bonus}! It was an absolutely gorgeous evening and we enjoyed a delicious supper on the patio at Doolittles.

...

I hope you have had a great weekend. Let me know what you've been up to, any good movies that you recommend?

The Little Things

Are you ready for an update on The Little Things? Well ready or not here comes a quick update on what I've been up to lately.

1. The 4th of July was spent at my husband's grandparents cabin on the river - the day was complete with way too much food and an amazing fireworks display
2. The 5th we headed to my parent's lake home in Minnesota - it has become a tradition to spend the weekend after or before the 4th there with our friends. {Don't you love the shirts I had made "Time To Get Star Spangled Hammered"}
3. We got home from the lake and went to check cows. It was a beautiful evening and always fun to see the cattle so excited for their treats. {For those unfamiliar with farm life our cattle are separated into grass pastures with their babies; there are also bulls in the pastures and all the cows are pregnant again. The cattle will be moved back to the farm around November-January.} >> Video
4. Playing horses :: Last night I watched our nieces and wow can they wear a person out!! I also forgot how much work it is to jump on a trampoline. >> Video

I've been feeling very blessed this last week being surrounded by lots of friends and family. Don't forget to appreciate The Little Things in your life!

Tomorrow morning I'm heading to the Twin Cities with my sister to stay with our cousin and his wife. We have an eventful weekend planned ending with The Color Run. I'm so excited and haven't trained for the 5k at all so that should be awesome!!

Have a Wonderful Weekend Friends!

The Little Things

I have been a little MIA on the blog lately but don't say I didn't warn you. Summer + Me + Blogging is not a good combo. All those ladies who have full time jobs but still find the time in the summer to write 2+ posts a week should seriously get an award.

I have been enjoying all those Little Things that make life worth living and I think Summertime always makes them a little sweeter!

This is what I've been up to Lately ::

1 :: It has been about two years since I got new glasses so last week I was on the search for some new ones - they should be here in a week or two so stay tuned to see what I chose

2 :: One of our friends has a summer internship in NYC so of course we need a few 'good bye for now' beers - I would love to go visit this summer but with all we have planned I feel like my summer is already over before it has started

3 :: Was at the lake last weekend and the weather this year hasn't been the best but even in the gloom I love Spirit Lake

4 :: Hanging out with my sister was so fun - we had a great time singing karaoke and one of my sister's friends won the competition and tickets to a concert festival in MN {we totally helped his chances with our *rockstar* voices aka > I think we sing better sober}

5 :: My moms birthday was Tuesday and Steve and I were glad we could celebrate with her - we had a great time taking the LONG way to supper but who doesn't love cruising the backroads on a nice evening

6 :: We tried out a new place to eat on Tuesday and are so glad we got the recommendation - there aren't many places to eat in our area so it is always nice when a new bar/restaurant opens up {even better when we hit it up on beer special night}

I'm a sub on a summer sand volleyball league and actually getting ready to go play now and will post this when I get home. {Hiii I'm Home} I have a lot of fun with the ladies I play with and it is a good excuse for some exercise {wait I mean beer drinking}!!

Lately I've been super busy with my little side photography business and when I get some photos edited I'll be sure to let you know! In the meantime let me know what you've been up to lately; and please tell me how do you keep up with blogging in the summer!!

The Little Things

I hope you guys aren't opposed to this giant photo dump I'm about to throw at you but I just want to let you know what I've been up to lately!

  1. I bought a gel nail kit that you do yourself at home. It made my nails super hard and the color was amazing, but doing the dishes by hand has worked against me on this polish because it is chipping like crazy.
  2. Our niece had her Spring dance recital. Watching all those girls in their little tutus was so fun!
  3. I hung out with a good friend and a fellow Farmer's Wife. We had a great afternoon catching up - sipping on pink lemonade, watching Sex and the City {from season 1 episode 1}, eating orange sherbet push-up pops, and talking about the little baby in her belly ;-)
  4. Sunset over the ND plains … I love this place
  5. My doodles for a possible new tattoo
  6. Had a great time on Mother's Day with my momma and the rest of my family
  7. Do you ever try and recreate photos? It is so fun to see the changes - this was a 20 year difference
  8. Riding with my hubby in the tractor - Oh I just love that man. They are currently busy planting corn, stay tuned for my Corn Reports!
  9. We have had some amazing sunshine here and there is no way I could sit inside, I apologize in advance because I may be a bad blogger in the summer - if there is sunshine I'll be siting in it! I started Safe Haven by Nicholas Sparks this is one of the first books I've read after I have seen the movie; this has only reminded me why I should always read the book first I don't like knowing the ending of my books :-)
  10. It's not summer without sunshine and a cold drink
  11. Our nieces crack me up and I love when they drop by and visit
  12. Soaking up more Sunshine!
  13. Finally opened my wine shipment - this is happiness!
PS. the last 3 photos were edited with the new app called 'A Beautiful Mess' if you love doodles and super cute stuff you should probably download this ;-)

I'm really excited for the weekend. My cousins are coming : I have a wedding to go to : I get to see old friends : I have 2 cousins with grad parties … It should be a weekend filled with great family and friends, and if it rains I may even get to see my husband for more than 2 hours {pray for some rain people}!!

The Little Things

I wish you enough sun to keep your attitude bright no matter how gray the day may appear.
.
I wish you enough rain to appreciate the sun even more.
.
I wish you enough happiness to keep your spirit alive and everlasting.
.
I wish you enough pain so that even the smallest of joys in life may appear bigger.
.
I wish you enough gain to satisfy your wanting.
.
I wish you enough loss to appreciate all that you possess.
.
I wish you enough hellos to get you through the final good-bye.

. . .

I got the above "I wish you enough" passage in an email forward and it kind of stuck with me. It makes you think about the little things that can change your day, your week, your month or even your year. Wow sorry the F.R.I.E.N.D.S theme song got away on me there; but honestly doesn't reading that little passage make you smile thinking that sometimes you need the rain and the pain to appreciate the joys and sunshine.

We have had enough snow here that the sunshine is abundantly appreciated, here is what I've been up to Lately.

  1. A coworker and I had a wonderful Monday evening, the weather was wonderful so we met up with some ladies at the sand volleyball courts and had fun getting back in the groove of things. After that we took a little speed walk around town and by the river.
  2. I hung out at the farm a little bit Tuesday evening then it was off to celebrate my husband's cousin's birthday at the place with the giant burgers.
  3. I just love when my mom comes over. She helped me wash all {we are talking piles} of our dishes, then we repotted this beauty. It is an Hawaiian Orchid from the Hubby's Grandma, she brought it home from their recent trip to the Big Island and I can't wait for it to bloom - really hoping I can have a green thumb on this one.

Stay tuned for tomorrow's recap of the Kentucky Derby Party.

The Little Things

Don't take for granted the little things in your life.

I am reminded, more often than I like to be, that we are not in control of this earthly life, that God has a plan for all of us and that sometimes life just isn't fair. I'm not trying to have a super depressing post but it is hard to see so much pain in the little community I live in. I pray God will bring strength to those in need and heal those suffering.

*Hope*
Photo I edited on my iPhone. Mexico 2013

Now, it is Thursday (one more day : one more day * seriously who doesn't live for Fridays) time to link up and let you know what I've been up to Lately.

  1. Nail Polish Shopping - I have to test them out first!
  2. Getting my wedding ring fixed but I felt naked without my ring so I needed a temporary replacement. This is one of my mom's rings, I use to wear this everyday in high school.
  3. Yesterday we had the weirdest rain/snow mix … Hopefully the last snow we will see for a while!
  4. This is the best cottage cheese - I ate this whole container in 3 days … Yum!
  5. Lunch today. Trying to eat healthier - this is homemade Ranch with Greek Yogurt, delicious and way better for you.
  6. Today the sun was shining and it looks like Spring is finally on it's way. Time to take my Christmas lights down huh?!

What have you been up to Lately?

The Little Things

As I'm having a 'who can google it faster' war with my hubby it truly is * The Little Things *  that make me smile.

Here is what I've been up to lately ::

1. My dad's birthday was Monday this was the 'card' I made him
2. My mother-in-law gave me a few plants for my birthday and in my attempt not to kill them I repotted them this week
3. "God doesn't give you the people you want, he gives you the people you need ... to help you, to hurt you, to leave you, to love you and to make you the person you were meant to be" This quote really helped me when our family was dealing with the loss of our loved one last year - his birthday would have been Tuesday and we still miss him horribly but know we have a pretty Amazing Angel watching over us
4. A glass of wine and old episodes of One Tree Hill with my hubby * Perfection
5. My sister-in-law's birthday was Wednesday this was her 'card' I made
