Our Hearts Are Healing ...

Someone is just playing a cruel joke on us, right?!

I'll wake up tomorrow and it will be nothing more than a terrible nightmare, right?!

Oh, how I wish I was right ...

It happened - again.

My worst fear.

An Accident.

I am heartbroken.

He is heartbroken.

We are numb - there is a huge part of us missing.

We have had this type of loss once - the second time around is harder.

I am bitter and empty.

He is frustrated and pissed.

We cry.

We mourn.

We go on day by day
- desperately hoping to hear her collar jingle or her feet clipping across the floor.

But, what we have now are memories,
Memories of puppy we loved so unconditionally it hurts,
Memories of a puppy who was so much more than just a puppy.

Bossy B - 9mo 14days

Today Brea is 9 months 14 days old. And your reaction to that is pretty much nothing. But for me it is a type of milestone. Gunner only lived 9 months and 13 days - each day after that, that we have Brea is a celebration to me. Because I'd be lying if I said I didn't worry - lying if I said each car driving by or strange noise outside makes my heart sink … it sinks until I see Brea trotting along eating cow poop like nothing is the matter.

I pray she grows old and is on this farm for a very long time - so we take it one day at a time with this beautiful girl praying this puppy becomes a year and two and so on.

For now though she is A puppy and Our Baby. Our 9 month 14 day old 80+ lb baby.

Sometimes Vacation is the Shits

Oh there is no doubt I will be bawling like a baby this afternoon {I'm already getting teary-eyed at 6:30am}. We will be dropping Brea off for 20 days at Puppy Boot Camp.

Brea

I am going to miss this little girl so much, granted we will be on vacation and enjoying new sights and keeping very busy - I know I'll think of her every day.

Pretty sure she knows we are leaving and is already getting stressed about it. This morning she pooped in her kennel for the first time ever and it would have been 'not so bad' if it was solid. Needless to say Steven had to power wash some items this morning and I was busy cleaning up poop instead of packing last minute necessities.

I can't be mad at her though because I won't see her for 20 days and I want to get as much loving and kisses in as possible. She will be 15 weeks old on Sunday and weighs about 35 pounds; I can't imagine how huge she will be when we get home.

So I hope I got all the poop cleaned up in the house and we don't find any stinky surprises when we return. Along with me, the blog will be taking a little vacation too, unless I decided to post while overseas but I have a feeling I will be too busy being a Norwegian!!

Brea : 9 Weeks

Brea is 9 weeks olds today and we have officially had her for 1 week!

Like I mentioned on Instagram my lifestyle has totally changed - she rules the roost for sure. Forgetting to eat, put makeup on and go to the bathroom are now regular occurrences!!

I am that crazy dog mom and have an unconditional love for her. I already have over 80 photos of her and that isn't counting my DSLR ones!!

Steven and I are head over heels and she is our new leading lady!

Coincidence or Fate or God's Plan

Two years ago our life was drastically changed when we lost our puppy, Gunner. Yesterday, though, we made June 1st a happy day!

Little miss Brea joined our family. She is actually Gunner's half sister, as they both have the same Sire.

As much as we are not ready for a new little one in our home {any tips for potty-training and sleep at night are welcome} we couldn't be more excited. She will be that missing little piece for us and even more special because she shares the same blood as our sweet Gunner Baby!

So in 2012 we lost our sweet sweet boy and now exactly 2 years later we brought a little girl home - I don't know if this is just a huge crazy coincidence or fate or His plan, whatever it is, I'll take it!!

Without further ado - Blog World, Meet Brea!!

Be prepared to see a lot of her. You can follow her hashtag on Twitter and Instagram #BreaRote

Over a Large Cup...

Today I am treating myself. Won't you join me in pampering yourself a little today?!

Over a large cup I'd tell you :: After seeing that Ashten got her butt out of bed today to go to the gym I figured instead of laying in bed reading about it I should do something. That 20 min workout in my pjs this morning was amazing!!

Over a large cup I'd tell you :: It is gloomy today, not quite raining but according to the radar it's probably not far off. This means planting will be called off today and the hubby will be enjoying draft day to the fullest - in his man cave with the guys! {can't wait to see what I come home to}

Over a large cup I'd tell you :: I am wearing a new Target find today and cute clothes can really make a person's day!!

Over a large cup I'd tell you :: I have a really hard time writing a sentence without putting an exclamation mark at the end. << {that period is driving me nuts!}

Over a large cup I'd tell you :: I am working on getting a new design at Mrs. Laura Beth. This past weekend I taught my sister some basics about my DSLR and she took some amazing pictures for me - I am so excited!!

Over a large cup I'd tell you :: We can get our puppy on May 30th. There was only one boy born in the litter so we are getting a girl instead. I'm so so excited, my husband longs for a boy but is still excited. So, what should we name her? We have a name picked out but maybe you guys have some better ones!!

Over a large cup I'd tell you :: I am really excited for the weekend. We are celebrating Mother's Day at the lake and just going to the lake means summer is close!

Now, treat yourself to a large cup and let me know what is on your mind!!

Packing Tips Welcome

You know those days where you think you will be really productive …
And then …
You Fail by sitting on the couch all day!

Reading blogs. Catching up on responding to my own blog comments, and putting off cleaning and packing.

Did I mention we have to be out of our apartment in 20 days?! HELP!! Any tips on packing for a move would be greatly appreciated!!

Where are we going you ask?! Well Back on 9.8.12 {yep our wedding} we stayed in our apartment for the first time ever. You see since August of 2010 we had been living with my husband's dad at the farm house. {The farm and apartment are only 10 miles from each other} And at one point this living arrangement included living with ALL of my inlaws {father, his girlfriend (on the weekends), sister 1 and her husband and our nieces (2), and sister 2, and sister 3} Did you get all that?! 10 people under one roof, very female dominated with 2 bathrooms. Thinking back on it I really don't remember there being that many people but I'm fairly certain I couldn't do it {sanely} again!! I Love my family but this just sounds like chaos!!

So as of today 2.8.14, we have been living here for 518 days, exactly 1 year and 5 months. Now it is time to pack because my Father-in-law and Wife {before mentioned girlfriend - aka Mother Teresa} are moving to 6911. Yep their new house is in the final final stages of being built and we get to move back to the farm house.

North Dakota, Farm Life, Winter

I am SUPER excited to move out of town and live on the farm again but am DREADING packing so I really need those packing tips! My current solution is drinking ALL the wine on my wine rack instead of packing it then just pack the rest of the place after that, but I have a feeling that isn't practical and I'd misplace tons of our things!

Hope you all are having a Wonderful Weekend!!
