Wedding Planning with Eri

Today is a day to celebrate those women who raised you and in most cases, those who gave birth to you - Mother's Day. I hope I can one day celebrate this holiday that gets so much hype because I long to experience the love that every mom says they never knew before their child arrived! But for now I'm a puppy mom and I'll embrace that title too!! Happy Mother's Day to all moms out there

2015 Mother's Day Weekend - Mom's Surprise 60th Party

While my mom is currently in Swiss Alps on an amazing vacation with my Dad my sister and I got together over the weekend to enjoy a Garth Brooks concert and talk wedding planning!! In 4 short months my baby sister is tying the knot and as the Matron of Honor I feel like I haven't helped her with anything yet - she is the planner so this isn't surprising because she LOVES to do this stuff.

My sister and her fiancĂ© are both very creative and hands on, this is just one of the many reasons they fit well together. Now, out of my sister and I, I'm for sure the more techie one and when anything is needed online - I'm the goto. So I was telling her about this new site I found called Uncommon Goods. They were looking for fun unique gifts for their wedding party and this site has every type of gift you can imagine plus a lot of personalized items, which I know my sister really likes!!

These two are seriously so dang cute!!

Once a week I probably get a snap from my sister's fiancé about some crafty project he is working on in his shop and making his man cave like his own personal brewery, there are definitely some gifts here that would look great in his shop {hint, hint Eri}.

Uncommon Goods prides them selves on selling handmade items from a variety of different sources so that is right up my future brother-in-laws alley. This company also has strong values in helping the environment which is something that makes my farmer soul very happy!

I can not wait to throw my sister a shower and bachelorette party and spoil her the way every big sister should when they have the honor of being included in that special day. Oh PS her wedding dress came in this weekend - SHE IS GOING TO BE A STUNNING BRIDE!! Now if these 4 months were anything like the ones in 2012, they are going to f l y by!!

So, as Mother's Day comes to a close and you have spoiled your mom rotten or gotten spoiled by your littles, don't forget that Dad's day is right around the corner and you can get a jump start on his gift here!

Where is Time Going

Honestly where does the time go and how is it May 15th already.

Day 135|365 that is just crazy!!

The number of times I've tried to write a post is pretty high and instead of saving it in drafts I've just completely deleted the whole thing - sometimes this blogging thing is hard!

My life has felt like a whirlwind lately and since I'm all about the lists with my new found love of bullet journaling that is what you are getting as a recap of my life as of late; a list and pictures::

:: My sister and I {with the help of my dad} successfully threw an early 60th Surprise Birthday party for my mom. Her birthday isn't until June 4 but we decided on Mother's Day weekend instead and thank goodness that we did because it was the perfect front to not cause too much suspicion!!

:: I'm in love with Create The Cut and their florals make me happy to sit in photoshop for hours

:: Even if life seems to be zooming by I still made time to sit, read and laugh at my fat cat

:: My sister put an offer in on a house and since I never had that experience I'm ESTATIC for her and her boyfriend!! {crossing my fingers the home inspection goes good}

:: Steven and I planted Hydrangeas {okay he planted and I watched and watered them when he told me} along the fence in our back yard and they are so cute. They are the incrediball variety so I can't wait until they start getting some Huge blooms!

:: We were really hurting for rain and now since it has started it won't stop and we are really wanting sunshine. Sometimes I think farmers are bipolar because one week they want one extreme & after they get it, then they want the other extreme haha

:: I went in to the Dermatologist for a skin check on the 8th. I hadn't been there since 2011 and had some moles I was worried about. I ended up needing 2 removed {one on each breast} and had that procedure done on the 12th. So now I have stitches and I am hoping and praying that the tests on the moles comes back with no abnormalities. It is still a scary thing to go through and I really wish those test results were instant!!

:: Met up with my best friends for supper this week and I really wish we all lived in the same town - it was great to see and talk to them in person instead of via technology

:: This weekend we aren't slowing down either - Tonight: is Ron White - Tomorrow: My youngest SIL graduates from college - Sunday: Soon-to-be-cousin's Bridal Shower :: Whew, I guess I can sleep when I'm dead ;-)

Hope you all {the 3 people that read my blog hehe} have a wonderful weekend and if you are Norwegian don't forget to celebrate Syttende Mai!!

Mother's Day Treats {Idea Post}

For all the last minute people this is a post for you. Did you know that this Sunday {May 11} is Mother's Day? Well now you do!! If you are really last minute and think 'I still have 5 days' think again, if you want to get mom that personalized card she will love you need to act fast.

I was recently introduced to Treat and they have the cutest cards ever, not to mention very great quality for super reasonable price! {You must order by 2pm (EST) on 5.6 to get your card by 5.10}

Sample Card from Treat
As I have mentioned before I think each gift should be personalized to let the person know you put thought into their gift and it is just for them. That is a main reason why I love Treat - their cards and gift products are able to be personalized for that special person and special occasion.

Now, my mom reads my blog and {for once} I have not been slacking in the gift department so I can't show you her card. I do, however, want to show you some ideas that have been floating in my head for different gifts and/or card display ideas.

Wouldn't your Treat card look great on one of these displays?

The Little Things

I hope you guys aren't opposed to this giant photo dump I'm about to throw at you but I just want to let you know what I've been up to lately!

  1. I bought a gel nail kit that you do yourself at home. It made my nails super hard and the color was amazing, but doing the dishes by hand has worked against me on this polish because it is chipping like crazy.
  2. Our niece had her Spring dance recital. Watching all those girls in their little tutus was so fun!
  3. I hung out with a good friend and a fellow Farmer's Wife. We had a great afternoon catching up - sipping on pink lemonade, watching Sex and the City {from season 1 episode 1}, eating orange sherbet push-up pops, and talking about the little baby in her belly ;-)
  4. Sunset over the ND plains … I love this place
  5. My doodles for a possible new tattoo
  6. Had a great time on Mother's Day with my momma and the rest of my family
  7. Do you ever try and recreate photos? It is so fun to see the changes - this was a 20 year difference
  8. Riding with my hubby in the tractor - Oh I just love that man. They are currently busy planting corn, stay tuned for my Corn Reports!
  9. We have had some amazing sunshine here and there is no way I could sit inside, I apologize in advance because I may be a bad blogger in the summer - if there is sunshine I'll be siting in it! I started Safe Haven by Nicholas Sparks this is one of the first books I've read after I have seen the movie; this has only reminded me why I should always read the book first I don't like knowing the ending of my books :-)
  10. It's not summer without sunshine and a cold drink
  11. Our nieces crack me up and I love when they drop by and visit
  12. Soaking up more Sunshine!
  13. Finally opened my wine shipment - this is happiness!
PS. the last 3 photos were edited with the new app called 'A Beautiful Mess' if you love doodles and super cute stuff you should probably download this ;-)

I'm really excited for the weekend. My cousins are coming : I have a wedding to go to : I get to see old friends : I have 2 cousins with grad parties … It should be a weekend filled with great family and friends, and if it rains I may even get to see my husband for more than 2 hours {pray for some rain people}!!

The Day ALL about Mom!

Today is All about Moms. My Mom, Your Mom, and {I guess} You if you are a mom!! Happy Mother's Day to all those lovely ladies out there who are called Mom by someone - You are appreciated for all you do and have done and today is the day to talk all about it!

Now lets talk about my mom shall we?!

My Mom is amazing, she is a hard worker, caring, compassionate, funny, loving … my list could go on with adjectives describing my mom and I think you get the drift.

I appreciate my mom so much and thank her for shaping me into the woman I am today. I thank her for the little things like: helping me wash my dishes; teaching me how to plant flowers; taking silly pictures with me; being supportive; being a great Mother-In-Law; always leaving little love notes; teaching me to LOVE taking pictures; introducing me to popcorn & hot tamales … and most of all teaching me the importance of Family and Love!!

I hope you are taking the time to show a little extra TLC to your mom today because let's face it, She Deserves It!!

I Love You Mom!

*Happy Mother's Day*
