Growing Baby Rote - 24 wks

How far along:  24 Weeks

I’m feeling: Overall I'm still feeling great! Had some dull pain due to ligament stretching this week but was hardly noticeable. My gums have been pretty tender so just trying to be more gentle when I brush and floss.
If I sit for long periods of time the left side of my back really flares up so my sedentary job is super fun right now - which is why you will find me being the crazy pregnant lady taking laps around the conference room table!!

Total weight gain: 14lbs

Baby Rote’s size: about the size of an Eggplant {13 in & 1.5 lbs}

This week: We had our midwife appointment on the 14th and all went well! Measuring right on track and heartbeat at 140bpm. {my guess is we are having a girl}

Maternity clothes: Still don't have a need for them

Sleep: Happily enjoying 8+ hours of sleep

Best moment this week: Steve got to find the heartbeat at our appointment so that was pretty special, instead of him just sitting there!! He also felt the baby kick this past week, although it probably doesn't feel as cool for him as it does for me!!

Movement: Feeling it more and more as this little one grows

Food cravings: sweets {hello Christmas goodies} - My new addiction is scrambled eggs on toast with shredded cheese

Food aversions: nothing but really trying not to consume too much sugar this holiday season

Belly button in or out: still in but seems to be getting more flat as this belly grows

Looking forward to: getting the glucose test out of the way at our next appointment

Growing Baby Rote - 22 wks

For anyone who only follows me here I'm happy to announce
WE ARE HAVING A BABY!!

Blogging is clearly not a regular thing for me but I just got this crazy idea that I might want to remember this pregnancy down the road. I have been posting some bumpdate photo updates on Instagram but in all honesty this pregnancy is flying by and I have to look down to remind myself I'm pregnant at times!!

So I am not going to guarantee any timeline to these posts but hopefully I can stick to it a little bit.
Copied these promts from my lovely friend Erin
...

How far along: 22 Weeks

I’m feeling: Wonderful. This is no joke, only early in pregnancy did I get nauseous a few times for only 5-10 minutes.

Total weight gain: 13lbs

Baby Rote’s size: Piece of Sweet Corn

This week: We took two back-to-back weekend trips to The Cities and my back can not take those car rides like it used to so this week I've been trying to get my back to cooperate with me. Let me just say I wish I could go to the chiropractor every day or every other day and get a massage on the off days!!

Maternity clothes: I have not bought any maternity clothes, bought some shirts one size bigger than my normal size and got a larger size bra for the first time since I was in high school. Other than that I have been living in leggings for a month or so, and let's face it I am not a jeans person anyway so legging life is just fine with me!!

Sleep: I toss and turn more than normal but overall I sleep really well ... I just have a REALLY hard time not finding myself on my back. I think it is time to invest in a pregnancy pillow (recommendations welcome)

Best moment this week: Having people notice my little belly bump, makes the pregnancy seem more real along with all the baby movement I feel

Movement: Tons - This week I really started to feel an active babe in my belly. I have an anterior placenta so they told me it might take a few more weeks than 'normal' to feel the baby, well Baby Rote must be getting bigger and stronger because I feel the jabs now!!

Food cravings: nothing really - except maybe the entire jar of hamburger pickles I could have ate at work this week!! Seriously what is it about pickles?!

Food aversions: Everything (kinda) I just don't have much of an appetite, similar to when I wasn't pregnant but the only issue with that is now I have to eat for the baby's health and I can't just eat crap. So, easy, healthy food recipes are welcome!

Belly button in or out: In and I hope it stays that way! I did however take my belly button ring out this week, for the first time in 4 years - that looks strange!!

Looking forward to: Getting the nursery done. Steve is done with harvest now so that hopefully means the list of house projects can get underway!!

Rote West Adventure Days 3 & 4

Day 3 - 552 Miles - Yellowstone to Boise, ID
July 3

The camping spot just outside Yellowstone park was beautiful, we packed up and enjoyed campfire breakfast then headed into the park. We met here with some friends from back home before we both went our separate ways.
Leaving Yellowstone we went by the Grand Tetons and Steve and I were in awe, neither of us had seen these beautiful mountains before.

Day 4 - 410 Miles - Boise, ID to Kennewick, WA
July 4

We left Boise and headed to McCall, ID to visit Steve's uncle, Brett! This was a beautiful drive and then McCall blew our minds, especially when Uncle Brett let us take his 4-wheeler for a spin on one of his favorite trails and a breathtaking overlook of McCall and Payette Lake.
Drove through Hells Canyon on the way to WA and also along the way the farm kids in us were in awe of the wheat hills we drove by.
It was my first 4th of July in 6 years that I wasn't at the lake back home and I was totally okay with breaking tradition for this wonderful trip!!
